Over the past couple of weeks as we were putting the finishing touches on this website prior to going “live”, we continued to add some really nice additions to our cellar. Generally speaking, when we purchase wine, it’s most often directly from the winery/tasting-room. It is a rare occasion when I get anything from a store. I tend to trust wineries to handle and store their products more carefully and consistently than grocery stores or outlet stores. Anyway…our latest additions include:
Col Solare | Collector’s Society Red Blend | 2016 |
Palencia | Mourvèdre | 2014 |
Monarcha | Pinot Noir Rosé | 2017 |
Columbia Crest | Reserve Viognier | 2017 |
Longship Cellars | Ginger Man Syrah | 2016 |
My wife particularly enjoyed the Rosé and the Viognier, and I was a big fan of the Syrah, Mourvèdre and the Red Blend (Cab Sauv, Cab Franc and Carménère). Don’t get me wrong, Gabby (MomentsbyGabriela) also really liked the reds, but she was the driving force behind our non-red wine acquisitions. We also ended up boosting our stock of three Bartholomew wines during this time as well, but I had previously purchased each of these, so they are already included in my wine-bottle gallery and you won’t see pix in this post of the 2015 Carménère, Reciprocity (Cab Sauv – Carménère blend), or the fortified (port style) 2013 Souzão. I’m excited to try these wines as well! Cheers!
