Saturday evening, March 16, at 4:45 pm, after a fantastic day of WineryHunt Washington tastings in Walla Walla, it was finally time to eat. Passatempo Taverna is one of my go-to restaurants in the downtown area….but there are many other fabulous places to eat in this little town. When I arrived, my appetite was through the roof. So I started with an appetizer of grilled octopus with fingerling potatoes, Calabrian chiles and sauce tonnato. With some deliciously made bread, this starter pack was outstanding with my glass of the Ramparts (a Grenache Blend) from the Walls! For my main entrée I ordered the Gran Bistecca, a 32 oz. bone-in ribeye (with a potato/veggie mix) that is allegedly a meal for two. No worries, I did indeed take about half of it home with me! And for the grand finale, I ordered my favorite dessert of all time, Tiramisu with a heavy cream Cortado. Life is good. Damn good!
