Earlier in the day on Friday, March 8th, I received a Facebook IM from Mr. Greg Frichette (Winemaker and co-owner of Frichette Winery, along with his amazing wife Shae). In his message he says, “…if you’re out later today, I’d like you to be the first to taste the 2018 Quintessence Cabernet Sauvignon – machine picked versus hand-picked.” My immediate response (as you might have guessed) was THANK YOU GOD THANK YOU GOD!!!! So, after a bit of tuning up my palate, I decided to take Greg up on his offer. What a fantastic experience! He wanted to get some insights on multiple variables with this cab sauv. Cooperage, neutral versus French oaked, and hand-picked versus machined picked. After providing my thoughts…I’m very excited to experience the end products that eventually evolve from this.
